Déesse Terre : art écoféministe

This drawing represent the essential goddess of earth and all creation. This is an energy that have been seen as a feminine character throughout humankind, in many different civilisations. Ecofeminism reveal the links between the domestication/destruction of nature and the domination of women (throught the violent Witch hunt) both coinciding with the beginning of Patriarchal capitalism.

But Earth Goddess is an entity that encompass everything that is living : it is the warmth and wet of the soil or the womb that grows the seed, it is nourishment and generosity; it is fierce when attacked, ever evolving and transforming. It is obvious when we see summer trees ripe with fruits and flowers, less attractive when in the composting of dead leaves to craddle the future seed : in the earth logic, Even death is the necessary ending for a new form to emerge.

It is it is embodied in us when we do grounding practices and mediattions, thus the energy rising from the “root chakra” (the base center of energy connecting us to earth, materiality reality) is painted here in black, like the bark of a tree.
